Book 6 to 10 weeks in advance for peak season Maui travel (June, July, August, and mid-December through early January). Book 3 to 5 weeks ahead the rest of the year. The Feast at Lele, Old Lahaina Luau, and Grand Wailea Alii Premium seating are the three tiers most likely to sell out first, sometimes 12 weeks before your dates.

What if your dates are already full?

Three fallbacks work. First, check the venue every 24 hours; cancellations open up frequently. Second, switch to a Sunday or Monday show, which fills last. Third, look at a nearby venue in the same region: the Wailea and Kaanapali region pages list every alternative within a 10-minute drive.

Should you book before or after your flights?

Book the luau first if you are traveling in June, July, August, or the winter holidays. Luau availability is the binding constraint on peak-season Maui itineraries, not flight schedules. See our companion guide, the best time to book a Maui luau, for month-by-month timing.
